Is Teeth Whitening Safe? YES! Studies show from the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD Impact, April 1998, p.23) several studies, during the past five years, have proven bleaching to be safe and effective. A small percentage of people may experience some tooth sensitivity and gum irritation, which disappears once you stop using the product or by decreasing the amount of time you bleach your teeth. Use Remineralization gel as required. Our gels are FDA approved.
What is Teeth Whitening? Ever wondered how actors, models and stars achieve such a great smile with gorgeous white teeth? They whiten their teeth using custom fitted trays with the exact same whitening gel as sold here. Teeth whitening is a bleaching process that lightens discolorations of tooth enamel. Whitening gel removes most stains with a gentle action that whitens your teeth. As the active ingredient in the gel (carbamide peroxide) is broken down and oxygen acts upon the stained organic deposits, which oxidizes them into a white color.
The whitening process makes the overall tooth color closer to its natural unstained color.
Your tooth structure remains unchanged. Years of clinical tests have demonstrated the safety and effectiveness of this whitening process.Over 95% of people treated achieve some level of tooth whitening. Crowns, bridges, bondings, and fillings do not lighten with dental bleaching systems. Custom trays and a premium quality gel are the only truly effective way to achieve a great bright smile. Whitening gel is worn in a custom-fitted trays that fit over your teeth for 1-2 hours per day, or even overnight. Many people notice an immediate whitening of their teeth within a few hours of bleaching It usually takes between 20 - 40 hours (7 - 10 days, 1 hour a day - EASY!) of cumulative bleaching time to complete the whitening process (This is true for all at-home dental bleaching systems, no matter who the manufacturer).
What is the ingredient used to whiten teeth ? - The ingredient used to whiten teeth is Carbamide Peroxide, a stabilized form of Hydrogen Peroxide which is a natural compound found in nature.
- Carbamide peroxide, also called urea peroxide, urea hydrogen peroxide, and percarbamide, is an oxidising agent, an adduct of hydrogen peroxide and urea. The molecular formula is CH6N2O3, or CH4N2O.H2O2. It is a white crystalline solid that releases oxygen in contact with water. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbamide_peroxide )
- Carbamide peroxide is commonly encountered in cosmetic dentistry, where it is used to "bleach" teeth. The active ingredient is hydrogen peroxide, which acts to oxidise interprismatic extrinsic staining within tooth enamel. There are several methods of applying the peroxide gel to the tooth ranging from night-guard application at home or in-surgery application. The bleaching obtained is proportional to the length of time the peroxide is applied to the tooth, and the concentration used. Concentrations used for tooth whitening purposes range between 10% and 35%. Higher concentrations carry a higher risk of side effects such as chemical burns. 10% is widely regarded as safe.
What are the whitening gel strengths ?
Carbamide Peroxide is available in 4 different strenghts. 16%, 22%, 35%, 44% The higher the percentage the more carbamide peroxide in the syringe. The higher the strength the more powerful the gel and the quicker results. People with tooth sensitivity generally use 16%. Our most popular strengths are 22% and 35%.
People needing rapid results and want to wear their trays for a very short time use a higher strength (35% or 44%)
Difference between Carbamide Peroxide (CP) and Hydrogen Peroxide (HP) Hydrogen peroxide is used by dentists in their offices and should be used under supervised provision. It is extremely powerful and if used incorrectly can burn gums. Carbamde Peroxide (EXPERTwhitening Gels are Carbamide peroxide) is a stabilized formula of hydrogen Peroxide. Carbamide Peroxide is designed to break down over a slower period while worn in the whitening trays, eliminating any risk of burning and provides optimum whitening results. EXPERTwhitening gels are designed to be near neutral PH providing the most comfortable and effective whitening experience with no sensitivity. Once Carbamide is applied to the trays the gel breaks down at a slow rate effectively whitening your teeth. Carbamide breaks down over a two hour period. After 2 hours it has broken down and is not actively whitening any longer. That is why people wear their trays from anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Safety?
This Whitening Gel is non-toxic. It is the safest cosmetic procedure available on the market today. It is recommended that pregnant or lactating women refrain from use. If gel comes into contact with eyes or skin, flush immediately with warm water. If ingested in large quantities contact physician. Continue routine dental visits. If you swallow the gel during your routine whitening - This is HARMLESS in these quantities.
- Caveat emptor: 44% is considered a professional grade whitening gel. FDA does not regulate these gels as they are considered cosmetic. Our manufacturing plant is registered with the FDA to ensure the best quality gel available.
What if I experience Sensitivity? Some people experience sensitivity from whitening. As the Carbamide Peroxide penetrates the enamel to remove stains, it also removes the water in the tooth enamel. Causing TEMPORARY sensitivity. We have a great product "Remineralization and Desensitization Gel" which Rehydrates teeth and replaces minerals and phosphates in teeth. Great, even if you are not whitening your teeth. Trays vs. Laser Whitening ? Laser whitening is extremely effective and will provide the exact same results as achieved when whitening with trays. However, after a laser whitening session in the dentists chair , they will usually recommend that you purchase custom trays to touch up and maintain your white teeth that you achieved through the laser whitening session. Depending on your lifestyle and what you place in your mouth (soda, pastas, smoke, wine, ketchup) your teeth with gradually start to discolor again. You WILL need to use trays and gel to touch up – or revisit your dentist and pay hundreds of dollars for laser again.
Whitening Instructions ? -
Prior to bleaching rinse mouth, do not use mouthwash. Pat teeth lightly with a tissue. Place small amount of gel into each tooth impression of custom (or instant) trays.
Gel should not squeeze out of trays when placed over teeth. If it does, you are applying too much gel. Whitening sessions vary from 30 minutes - 2 hours. Wearing trays minimum 1 hour per session recommended. Carbamide Peroxide breaks down over a 2 hour period, and is actively whitening your teeth when in your trays, so if you are looking to achieve MAXIMUM whitening results, then we recommend whitening for 2 hours per session, although most of our customers whiten for one hour per session, once a day with the same GREAT results). After treatment brush and floss.
Uses per syringe ?
If used correctly, each syringe should provide 3 – 5 whitening sessions of the upper and lower trays. We have recently increased our syringe size from 1cc to 3cc whitening gel per syringe. We have not increased our prices. You are receiving 200% more gel free per syringe.
Whitening For The First Time ? To obtain maximum whitening results that will make you smile wear trays as per instructions. Once a day, for 30 -90 minutes per day for 7-10 days. You will start seeing results within 3 days. However, continue daily whitening to achieve maximum results! Remember for amazing results consistency is key.
Is Whitening Permanent? Yes! Whitening your teeth by this method is permanent. Teeth will naturally stain or discolor over time. Sodas, coffee, wine, cigarettes and food colorings in most foods these days cause this discoloration to happen.
Touch up as needed. Wear trays as per instructions for a few days in succession and your teeth will return to the original achieved whiteness.
When do I Touch Up? How frequently you need to touch up is determined by the individual and how quickly your teeth respond to the coloring in the products you eat. (Weekly, monthly or bi-annually). Remember teeth whitening is very safe.

EXPERTwhitening products are made from the finest ingredients. Pure blended, NO FILLERS! Glycerin Carbomer, Carbamide Peroxide, Trietyleamine (TEA) Flavor. Individual syringe weight varies in size.
How Should I Store my Gels? Store gel in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. May be refrigerated. No freezer. 35% gels store well in refrigerator which aids consistency of gel, yet can be stored at room temperature. 2 year shelf life.
Compare to Other Leading Brands? How Does Fluoride Affect Whitening? Fluoride affects the whitening process by inhibiting the release of carbamide peroxide. This in turn dramatically increases whitening time. That is why we recommend brushing after your whitening session, not before. If using fluoride toothpaste, the mouth should be rinsed well with water to remove as much fluoride as possible.
What is Full Cure Teeth Bleaching? A full cure whitening is when teeth are bleached beyond just the surface of the tooth. This provides permanant and amazing white results. By doing a full curing of the tooth we whiten into the pulp of the of the tooth which usually makes the whitening brighter and tends to last much longer than just surfacing whitening that generally lasts only a few months. The key to full cure bleaching is consistency, especially if whitening for the first time. We recommend wearing your trays from 1-2 hours per day for 7-10 days in succession - this is the key to a full cure whitening. If you miss days, you are whitening your teeth, achieving great results but possibly not beyond the surface.
What is Tooth Sensitivity ? Although not common, some individuals may experience sensitivity. This is temporary and will subside after treatment is interrupted. Tooth sensitivity occurs through the gel making the tooth structure slightly dehydrated as it penetrates and cleans the tooth. Whiteners are glycerin based which absorbs water from the teeth, thus disrupting the isotonic condition of the tooth causing sensitivity. In other words, the teeth get dehydrated during the whitening process, which causes the sensitivity. Normal saliva normally hydrates the tooth once the trays are removed and no sensitivity is experience. If you do experience sensitivity, we recommend the use of Sensodyne Toothpaste (an over the counter toothpaste available at most drug stores). We also offer "Desensitizing and Remineralization gel (available under maintenance) This gel remineralizes the tooth enamel by replenishing phosphates and other natural minerals in your tooth enamel, eliminating sensitivity and strengthening your tooth.

Start whitening same day! If you select Lab made Custom Fitted Trays, you will receive FREE Instant Trays to use for while you wait for your custom trays.
Custom Trays vs. Instant Trays? They key to successful whitening is to have the gel sit on your teeth, as close to your tooth surface as possible, for as long as possible. Custom Trays are made to fit your teeth snuggly ensuring the gel remains on your enamel to effectively lift stains and whiten the enamel to the color you were born with. Once your custom trays arrive you will be amazed at the difference in fit over your instant trays! Instant Trays are a quick fix to determine whether teeth whitening is right for you, or if you need to start whitening immediately due to a special event.
